Brisbane braces for biggest 4x4, offroad, boating and fishing show yet

For Immediate Release: Wednesday December 17, 2008.

Following the success of last year’s Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show and National 4x4 Show and Outdoors Expo, fishing and camping enthusiasts can mark 20 – 22 March 2009 on the calendar with the iconic events set to take over the RNA Showgrounds once again.

Brisbane residents have been flocking to the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show and National 4x4 Show and Outdoors Expo since 2005 when the two successful shows converged together to make one big super expo for individuals with a passion for all things outdoors.

Already event organisers are promising this year’s show will be the biggest yet with the return of the traditional favourite stands along with some brand new features.

“Each year the show continues to grow and 2009 will be no different as we continue to lock in more and more exhibitors who will display the latest products for the four wheel drive, touring, towing and camping enthusiast,” said Chris Hill from the National 4x4 Show and Outdoors Expo said

“In the coming weeks we will release details on a number of new initiates which will be appearing at the show next year which will broaden the appeal of the show even more.  Already 80 percent of sites for the show are sold which is extremely strong for this time of year and the current economic climate.

Jason Plant from the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show said the keen angler will also be catered for with boats, fishing rods, tackle and accessories occupying numerous pavilions at Queensland’s most famous Showground.

“The one thing about Brisbane residents is that they all love getting out onto the bay to enjoy some quality time fishing and this show really does cater for the Queensland lifestyle,” said Jason Plant.

“Not only will the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show feature the latest products but there is also a comprehensive education program which provides individuals with tips to help them land the next big catch.”

The National 4x4 Show and Outdoors Expo and Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show represents great value with tickets into both shows starting at $8 for a concession or student with adults just $10.  In 2009, kids under 15 will be admitted free.

Tip:

Water crossings can provide some of the most exhilarating and challenging 4WDriving around. They can also prove to be the most expensive! A 4x4 is not an amphibious vehicle, in fact they are not even waterproof. The actual depth that you can cross depends on your vehicle. For example, a stock LandCruiser may be submerged at the depth a raised Hilux doesn't even wet the door sills. As a general rule, if its above the top of your wheels its probably too deep. A water crossing should not be attempted by inexperienced or ill-prepared 4WDrivers. Prior to a water crossing, it is a good idea to place your recovery gear on top of other luggage. The last thing you want to do is be searching under your fridge, tents and luggage for your recovery gear when you are stuck in the middle of a crossing.
