Vehicle Preparation
The first thing to do before any unfamiliar water crossing is to walk it. If you cannot walk it you cannot cross it. If the water is flowing too quickly to safely walk the crossing, then it cannot be driven across.
Remember, 4x4's actually float until water seeps into them. When you walk the crossing you are actually starting your vehicle preparation. You are giving the axles, diffs and gearbox time to cool down while you find out exactly how deep the water is.

I normally drive down to Lorne and then make my way through some of the tracks from there but the whole national park is massive I have no idea how far it reaches…
hey guys love the video’s, hands down the best around! just wondering about what size simex’s you’re running on the surf and how they go in the mud? how high is the car to fit them tyres on?
cheers man yeah i was thinking simex centerpeids…jus trying to look for a mud tyre that last long on and off the road…have mickey thompson mtz’s at the moment and the seem to be fading on the rear pretty fast

Yeh we run them on the road. Surfs/Luxes are pretty light so they dont wear as quick as if they were on a cruiser or patrol
