The Sounds of Wiluna compilation CD is the product of a professional recording and song production tuition project, conducted in Wiluna by the West Australian Music Industry Association (WAM) over 10 days in June 2011. Wiluna is a remote town in the Mid West region of Western Australia. It is situated on the edge of the Western Desert at the gateway to the Canning Stock Route and Gunbarrel Highway, approximately 1000kms North East of Perth. Within Wiluna exists a talented music community. Wiluna’s extreme isolation is a barrier for it’s local musicians to engage in many opportunities, afforded musicians and songwriters in capital cities and larger regional centres. The compilation CD features six tracks, traversing the genres of Country Rock, Hip Hop, Gospel and the unmistakeable desert Reggae Rock sound by musicians based around the centre of Wiluna. In many of the songs traditional Martu indigenous language is used in lyrical content. Combined with English and a Gospel track in a Fijian dialect, the Sounds of Wiluna CD, truly has a multicultural feel. For more information – visit www.wam.asn.au/regional

Well finally I have some information on getting permits for Madigan Line. I may be wrong but a few people were given permits last year, but these were while the person in charge of permits was away on leave and are not how it is done now.
To now get a permit from the CLC you have to go through Jol Flemming of Direct4wd in Alice Springs and he organises it for you. So hopefully finally I will get a permit in the next few days and and we will be ready to leave at the end of next month. (Jol informed that he would have the permit done way before then) so fingers crossed. So hopefully anyone else doing Madigans in the future this will save you the 8 months of phone calls I have had to deal with, I would like to thank Peta from CLC for finally helping me sort this out.
Cheers Madigans here we come, Sorry to say this but stay away QLD rain.
